Feb 23, 2004 – At the Geneva Motor Show, Stola will unveil a very special, long wheelbase Lancia Thesis luxury Limousine created as a showcase of the company's ability in creating top quality show car and one-offs.
The new fuoriserie has been labeled, as is now a tradition, “Stola S85” to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the company. Sources close to the project, still secret, say that the car has been styled and engineered to be a smaller-scale and affordable Italian alternative to the Maybach. Actually the car is almost 5.5 metres long after its wheelbase has been stretched by 600 mm.
As with the German flagship, and like many luxury cars of the 30s and 40s, it is painted in two different shades of burgundy red and comes with a unique and very plush interior. The rear compartment is flat and the floor is covered with a layer of sophisticated wood. Two fully adjustable armchairs are upholstered with Frau leather .
